If the \programdata directory is not displayed in Windows Explorer, proceed with the following steps:

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. From the menu bar, select Organize / Folder and search options.
  3. Click on the View tab.
  4. In the Advanced Setting panel, scroll down to Hidden Files and Folders option.
  5. Select the option Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives.

Please note that a UNC path can be used if directed by IRCH Technical Support.

Please note there is a length limit for the server application directory UNC path.

  1. Installer allows a server UNC path of 34 characters or less.  This accommodates the program and file naming convention used in the installation.
  2. Workstation install for an installed network directory allows an existing UNC server path to the network application directory of 45 characters or less.

How to update the BDE (Borland Database Engine) configuration on a workstation:

  1. From an installed workstation, close Retention Manager.
  2. From the taskbar at the bottom of the monitor window, select Start / Settings / Control Panel / BDE Administrator.
  3. In the BDE Administrator program, select the Configuration tab.
  4. On the Configuration tab expand Drivers / Native.
  5. Highlight PARADOX.
  6. Highlight the NETDIR variable.
  7. The NETDIR variable should point to the network \irch\retman4\netdir directory for Retention Manager.  On a standalone installation it should show the local BDE directory path listed above for your program.
  8. If it does not, click on the button with the three dots at the end of the text box listing the directory path (see image below).
  9. Browse to the network \irch\retman4\netdir directory and select it for Retention Manager.  On a standalone installation use the local BDE directory path listed above for your program.
  10. If the Programdata directory is not displayed in the Browse window, do the following:
    1. Open Windows Explorer.
    2. Navigate to c:\Programdata\IRCH\xxxxxxx\netdir.
    3. Copy the directory path by right clicking in the address bar and select the Copy address as text option.
    4. Paste the copied path in the NETDIR input area.
  11. For a network install, the NETDIR path should read network drive letter:\irch\xxxxxxxx\netdir.  For a standalone install, the NET DIR path should read C:\programdata\irch\xxxxxxx\netdir.
  12. On the icon bar below the menu bar, there is a blue arrow (see image below). Click on it to apply the variable change.
  13. Confirm and close the BDE Administrator program.
  14. Do a search on the local hard drive for occurrences of the file PDOXUSRS.NET.
  15. Delete any occurrences from the local hard drive.
  16. Do this for each installed workstation.

Please contact IRCH Technical Support if there are any questions.
